Instructions

The Rage : Bloodlines contains 4 main components: The HUD, the Claws, the Stat Viewer, and The Wound. The two essential pieces to play the game and use the functions are the HUD and the Claws. The Stat Viewer and the Wound are just for fun. Each item is explained in detail below:

2a. The Wound The Wound is a set of scripted lycan claw marks. They are click-operated, and cycle through 3 stages of mark - fresh, scabbing, and scarred. If an avatar is clawed by The Rage lycan claws, the Wound will also squirt particle blood as the attack occurs.

2b. The Stat Viewer The Stat Viewer is an attachment that shows others your Bloodlines stats with text floating over your head. It displays the following information: Generation, Clan/Pack Name, Status, Amount of Humanity remaining (if greater than 0), Amount of Lumens or Vital Blood Remaining, and number of collected souls.

2c. The Claws The majority of the Rage : Bloodlines functions are contained in the Claws. You must be wearing your Claws at their default attachment point in order for them to work. If they are rezzed on the ground or are attached somewhere else, they won't work.

2d. The HUD The HUD contains 7 buttons:

  1. Jaw Open (top left, round fang button)
  2. Bloody Claw (bottom left, round bloody claw button)
  3. Visage Reveal - Toggles Lycan Beast head show/hide (sold separately)
  4. Claw Reveal - Toggles Lycan claws show/hide
  5. Howl - Animation and audio emote
  6. Leap - Superhuman leap
  7. Claw Attack - Initiates Lycan rage attack
  8. Stats (round skull button, below HUD)
  9. Settings: (round cog button, below HUD)
  1. Jaw Open - Toggles lycan jaw open/closed
  2. Claw Blood: show blood on your claws, or clean them
  3. Visage Reveal: toggle head show / hide.
  4. Claws Reveal: toggle claws show / hide.
  5. Howl: Animation and audio howl emote.
  6. Leap - A superhuman leap, useful for attack or defense.
  7. Claw Attack - Scans for nearby avatars, allows you to choose one to attack. Your victim must be within 20 meters of you. Once you select their name, they will be asked for permission. If they accept, the animation will play, and you'll claw them. If they're wearing their claw marks, the claw marks will squirt blood. If this is the first time they've been attacked, your claws will vend them a copy of the claw marks to wear. The first time they wear their claw marks, they'll be given a landmark to the Bloodlines store. If they pick up a copy of the Rage : Bloodlines, you will get their soul.
  8. Stats - Scans for nearby avatars, allows you to choose one to get stats on. Choice of web-page viewing or open-channel chat of stats is available in settings (see below).
  9. Settings: The settings menu contains the following items:
    1. Detector - Shows/hides the hovertext detector over the HUD, revealing who is nearby.
    2. Stat Reload: forces your stat viewer to check in with the website. Any time you feel your stats may not be showing up right, try pressing this button.
    3. Bite Mode: You can set your claws to either 'Bloodlines' mode or 'Free' mode. When in Bloodlines mode, your actions will be recorded as part of the game, and in Free mode, you can use the functions of your claws outside of the Bloodlines game.
    4. Scan Mode: You can set the scan mode to either 'Text' mode or 'Web' mode. In web mode, both the self-scan and avatar radar buttons will open the selected bloodlines web profile. In text mode, both the self-scan and avatar radar buttons will chat the selected avatar's information to you in local chat.
    5. Animation: Your claws come included with one animation: a simple lycan attack. You have the option of using additional animations by adding them to the contents of your claws. You'll need two animations: one for the victim, one for the attacker. Your animations must be named with the following convention: name_attacker, and name_victim, and replace 'name' with what you want your animation to be called. For example "fierce_attacker', 'fierce_victim'. Then, when you select the 'animation' button under settings, you'll be able to select between the animations you've added and the default animation.
    6. Clan: Contains all the various choices in regards to creation and management of a pack, clan or horde.
      1. Ban Minion - Allows you to prevent a Minion from lieging to you.
      2. Unban Minion - Releases the ban on a Minion that you prevented from lieging to you.
      3. View Bans - Lists all Minions you have banned.
      4. Set Liege - Scans for nearby avatars, allows you to choose one to be your Liege. This name must be an avatar that has purchased the Bloodlines System. It cannot be yourself, and it cannot be one of your own minions (someone who has already pledged allegiance to you).
      5. Set Clan - If you select this item, you'll be prompted to chat the name of your clan on channel 999. This is the clan that will be set for those that pledge allegiance to you. The default clan is "Curse Clan". Be advised, if you pledge allegiance to someone, your clan and the clans of all of your minions will be changed to your liege's clan. You cannot choose a clan name that someone else has already chosen, but anyone can rejoin the Curse Clan at any time. You clan name can only be letters, numbers, and spaces, must be less than 25 characters, and cannot be blank.
    7. Gender: Set your gender to 'male' or 'female'. This is only used for status names, such as setting either 'King', or 'Queen'.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Q. MY ITEM DOESN'T FIT RIGHT. WHAT DO I DO?
    A. First, make a copy of the item! Do this by right-clicking it in your inventory, and selecting 'copy', then right-clicking it and selecting 'paste'. Once you've made a few copies, you can either wear the prim item or rez it on the ground, then right-click it and choose 'edit'. It's probably easiest to edit you edit while wearing it, and then stand on a pose stand. We've included a free pose stand which you can rez in an area that allows you to create objects. Once you rez it, right-click and choose 'sit', then right-click your atttachment and choose "edit". From within the pop-up edit menu you can shrink and move your item to best fit your avatar. If you do not know how to edit/resize prims, please refer to one of the many useful resources / tutorials in the forums or in-world regarding editing items.
  • Q. MY HUD IS ATTACHED BUT I CAN'T FIND IT! WHERE IS IT?
    A. For some reason, once in a while a HUD will attach off-screen. This seems to happen more often when you have another HUD attached. The first thing to try is to attach your Mark HUD to a different spot on your display. Do this by right-clicking it in your inventory and choosing "attach HUD" and then picking the different locations, until you see it show up. If this still doesn't help, check out the "Locating an Offscreen HUD" addendum to the FAQ below.
  • Q. I THINK MY ITEM IS GLITCHY/BROKEN. WHAT DO I DO?
    A. The first thing to try, is unattach and reattach your items. If this doesn't help, try relogging; as we all know, this solves a lot of problems in SL. Also make sure that you are on land that allows scripts to run! If your item *still* isn't working, we suggest resetting the scripts in your attachment. You do this by attaching or rezzing the item, and then right-clicking and choosing "edit". Once the edit menu has come up, you can go up into the 'Tools' menu at the top of your screen, and choose "Reset scripts in selection".
  • Q. I LOST MY ITEM SOMEWHERE AND I NEED ANOTHER ONE
    A. We're sorry but repairs/returns can only be serviced if we actually receive your orignal broken item back. We are not responsible for items lost due to negligence, SL updates, Sandbox erasures etc.
  • Q: I BOUGHT SOMETHING BUT NOW I WANT TO RETURN OR EXCHANGE IT
A: Most Liquid Designs items are no transfer. That means it's impossible to return it to us, which also means a refund or exchange is not possible. There are no exceptions to this. It's your responsiblity to use care when purchasing items. Everything for sale is clearly marked with price and permissions.
  • Q: I BOUGHT SOMETHING BUT I CAN'T FIND IT IN MY INVENTORY
A: First, do an inventory search for the item. Open your inventory and where it says "Type here to search" type in the name of what you purchased. If the item doesn't appear, next check the trash. If you were in busy mode while you purchased the item, it will go there. Also, it's possible that you have accidentally (or on purpose) muted Mars Bracken. If so, the item will go into your trash, and he will not be able to respond to any IMs you send him. You can check your mute list by going to the "View" menu. On rare occasions, there is a glitch that will mute someone without putting them on the list. In order to be sure, do a search for Mars Bracken, go into his profile and choose "Mute", and then in the mute menu that shows up, choose his name and then "Unmute". Next, make sure that the transaction went through at all - sometimes it appears you've bought something but SL lagged, and the money never went through. You can check transactions in your account info on the SL site, or at http://secondlife.com/account/transactions.php If all this fails please send Mars Bracken an notecard with the following information:
    • Missing item name
    • Your name
    • Transaction time / number
  • Q: HOW DO I FIND OUT WHEN YOU HAVE NEW THINGS?
A: By purchasing an item from Liquid Designs, you are automatically added to a customer update list, and will be notified of new products that come out in the product line you've purchased from. You can also manually be added to this list via terminals at the Liquid Designs Island, in the central gazebo. If you'd like to opt out of these lists, send a notecard to Mars Bracken, and he will remove you immediately, no questions asked.
  • Q. WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE A QUESTION THAT'S NOT ANSWERED HERE?
    A. First, check the Bloodlines website at www.slbloodlines.com. If you're still stuck, send Mars Bracken (or the artist that designed the toy) a notecard with your question, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

FAQ ADDENDUM - LOCATING AN OFF-SCREEN HUD

Attached your HUD but unable to see it? Were you able to see it, but then attached another HUD and the Thirst HUD disappeared, but still appears 'attached' in your inventory? What's happened is the HUD *is* on, it's just off-screen where you can't see it.

First thing to try is to attach the HUD to different spots on your display. Go to your inventory, find the Thirst HUD, right-click and choose "Attach HUD", and then try the different spots listed. If this doesn't work, use the following instructions to locate and move your off-screen HUD:

  1. Go to a place where you have the ability to rez a wooden box. A public sandbox is good, or your own property, etc.
  2. Once there, go to the "Tools" menu, choose "Select Tool" and "Create".
  3. The edit menu should pop up, and your mouse will turn to a magic wand. Click anywhere in-world and you will rez a square wooden box.
  4. Right-click this box, and a pie-menu should appear. Choose 'More' from the pie menu, then choose "ATTACH HUD", and pick a spot to attach the box. Center is best, but be sure it's NOT the spot where you have the Thirst HUD attached.
  5. The box should appear large on your screen, attached as a HUD. Right-click it and choose 'Edit'
  6. We want to zoom out from the box, as you would zoom out from anything in world - so hold the 'alt' key, and move the mouse down to zoom out.
  7. The entire heads-up-display will zoom out, and you'll see the normal boundary marked in white. Outside this boundary is the off-screen area of your HUD. Somewhere in that area is the Thirst HUD. It may be hard to see at first, as it is dark and tiny from being zoomed. You may want to move into a brighter area to look for it. Once you locate it, click it. Since you are in edit mode, this will select it, although it may un-zoom the screen for a moment. Just use step #6 again to zoom out until you can see the movement arrows surrounding the Thirst HUD.
  8. Use the movement arrows to slide the Thirst HUD back inside the white boundary box showing your normal HUD area. Position it as you see fit.
